A Message from Bob Huber

When running for Mayor I made promises. I’ve kept those promises.

Here’s what I’ve accomplished to date:

* Held public Town Halls every month bringing City Hall closer to the People. I’ve incorporated people’s ideas into action addressing the needs of our City
* Initiated the Citizen’s Fiscal Advisory Committee
* Personally met with many of our largest employers to keep jobs in Simi Valley
* Founded the community-wide joint Heroin Prevention Task Force
* Reestablished a respectful relationship with the City and our Police Officers
* Raised the issue of lowering benefits for council members
* Initiated Comprehensive Economic Strategic Plan to Bring Jobs to Simi Valley
* Initiated Ordinance to keep the Pornography Industry out of our City
* Initiated Official Simi Valley City Flag
* Initiated Ordinance to Rid Prostitution from our City
* Initiated Police Department’s use of Social Media
* Initiated Halloween Ordinance to Protect Simi Valley Children from pedophiles.

We still have a lot to do to make Simi Valley better. We need to aggressively implement my Council adopted plan to bring new jobs to Simi Valley and keep present businesses from leaving. That will be my number one priority for the next two years in addition to placing highest priority on keeping our City safe. I’m also going to continue leading the battle to get prostitution out of our city, keep the pornography industry out and stop drug dealers from destroying our children.

1. Public Safety

I have worked hard over the years to restore the relationship and trust between our Police Department and City. I’ve gone on ride-alongs with our officers and had countless meetings with officers and management. Public safety is the number one role of our city government-keeping citizens of Simi Valleys safe. I am endorsed by former Sheriff Bob Brooks, and our Firefighters because they know my number one goal is to keep Simi Valley safe.

2. Economics

While there have been many challenges facing our City and our Country over the past several years I feel it is the job of local Government to step up to do everything it can to help our local economy prosper. A healthy business economy means jobs for our residents. Without job creators there will be no jobs. After a lot of thought and research I came up with the economic plan I believe will assist our City in securing a brighter economic future.

3. Drugs

A major issue all over our Country is the addiction of young people to opiate drugs. Unfortunately, Simi Valley is no exception. Our City is taking action against the drug problem. In response to the issue I founded the Heroin Prevention Task Force. I am very appreciative of the lead role taken by the “Not One More” citizens organization.

Simi Valley sights its economic future

Mayor Bob Huber wants to reinvent the city as what you might call Simi Valley 4.0, combining the best parts of its past but bringing more of a startup and tech culture to the region’s second-largest city. He took the wraps off his vision in an Economic Strategic Plan that was presented to City Council on Aug. 13.
