From the first announcement of my intention to run for Mayor of Simi Valley through the last two hours of burma shaving at the corner of Tapo Canyon and Cochran streets…this campaign has been fueled by the power of community.

The allegations that have recently come to light regarding my business associate of 27 years, Russell Takasugi, are both shocking and disappointing to me. Because Russell and I are an association and have separate trust accounts, files, and clients, I do not have access to any information regarding the specific details of this complicated situation beyond the pages faxed to me by the Ventura County Star and what has already been printed in the Ventura County Star. I have never reviewed Russell’s books, nor, due to the need to respect client confidentiality, have I ever reviewed the files of Russell’s clients with whom I have no legal obligation or responsibility. However, because my good name is associated with this issue, I will leave no stone unturned in getting to the bottom of these disturbing allegations.

The race for Mayor of Simi Valley has added another significant endorsement.

Joining the hundreds of private citizens and office holders, Republicans and Democrats, Ventura County Sheriff Bob Brooks has joined the effort to elect former Deputy District Attorney Bob Huber as Mayor of Simi Valley. Huber also has the official endorsement of the Simi Valley Police Officers and the Ventura County Firefighters.

Simi Valley….Today Mayoral candidate Bob Huber called for the immediate start of the process to annex to the City of Simi Valley the land to be used by Waste Management for expansion of their facilities and commercial development.
