I was perplexed by Council member Barbra Williamson’s quote on Steve Sojka’s candidacy for Simi Valley mayor (Simi Valley Acorn, March 29).
Barbra said the mayor shouldn’t be a “relic” and should be “between the ages of 45-54.”
I’m taking an educated guess here, but I’m pretty sure Barbra is over the end of that age range.
Does that mean she is a relic herself and will be stepping down? Does that mean Paul Miller should have never run for mayor in the first place? Where I come from this is age discrimination. I don’t believe in any kind of discrimination.
